2007 Ted Brewer Custom 46 Cutter

Restless is like no yacht you've ever seen. Painted a glistening Stars and Stripes Blue , she was custom built to the highest of standards by a perfectionist and she will leave you breathless. Designed by world-renowned yacht designer in partnership with multi-talented builder Robert Kingsland, Restless combines the best of both artistic and engineering sensibilities. Robert made certain that every component of Restless was exceptionally thought out. To quote Robert: "I realized very quickly that I could either build a rough but operative boat or I could build the best boat I could figure out how to make-I chose the latter no matter how long it took. One of my primary objectives was to see something that would make me smile everyplace my eye came to rest. As a result, not a square corner exists anywhere in the boat, neither in the metal work nor woodwork" Built of top quality steel with high bulwarks and a deep cockpit she is capable of sailing all the worlds oceans. Though the builder passed away shortly after her launch, Restless is ready to sail - with only a few minor details to be finished, through which the next owner will be able to add their "personal touch". If long distances or comfortable live-aboard are in your future you must see her. Though listed a 2007 in many ways this boat could be thought of as new.

Layout Details

Restless was built as a pilothouse, two stateroom, three cabin layout.

The forward stateroom has port and starboard sea bunks with lots of clothes storage and lockers for extended cruising.

Coming aft to the salon there is a port U shaped settee and starboard single settee with beautiful cabinetry throughout.

Next aft to port is the galley with double stainless sinks, a four burner force ten stove and oven and enormous double counter style area for fridge and freezer. The cabinets in this area are ample for extended stays and include an upper portion with microwave.

To starboard across from galley is a very large head compartment with stall shower.

Coming further aft is the pilothouse with nav center to port with custom electrical panels and an option for an inside helm. To starboard is a seating area (needs table) and a pilot berth outboard.

Furthest aft is a private aft cabin with bunks on port and starboard a sink and vanity and more beautiful hanging lockers and drawers.

The sole is teak and holly throughout.

Designer Comments - Ted Brewer Yacht Design

Restless is a sturdy, radius bilge, full keel cutter that was originally designed as a double ender with round cruiser stern. Construction is of steel with closely spaced longitudinals on widely spaced athwartship frames.

With generous beam, good ballast ratio and large tankage all below the waterline Restless is a powerful boat and will stand up to a breeze.

The rig is conventional cutter and is strongly set up with keel stepped mast and double spreaders. Intermediate backstays are fitted and the knowledgeable seaman can set these up as runners for extra security in heavy weather and the extra forestay tension they provide. The boat is a good performer in all conditions.

Flush decks offer a solid working platform and the ten foot long cockpit will be appreciated in port when an awning can be hung to provide a shady spot for relaxation.

That is no doubt that Restless is a big boat boat for her length, a true ocean voyager that will be at home on any of the seven seas, from the tropics to the Arctic. She will carry you wherever you want to sail in safety and comfort.
