Keel Details

Catalina is the only production sailboat manufacturer to use LEAD KEELS across their entire line of boats. Not only does this help in providing a more stable boat. Lead adds to the safety of the boat in the unfortunate advent of grounding. It does so by absorbing more of the impact, rather than transmitting the forces to the boat's structure.

The Catalina Wing Keel features true foil shaped wings. providing extra lift when charging to windward.

Keel Type: Wing
Ballast: 4400 lb
Displacement: 11700 sq ft
Max Draft: 4.25 ft

Interior

The unique interior is beautifully finished in a rich combination of teak, ash and maple hardwoods, complementing the textured fiberglass overhead and full hull liner. Attention to details like the custom molded galley counters with integral backsplashes, three separate lighting circuits in the main cabin and a cedar paneled hanging locker set the 320 apart from the ordinary.

The layout is spacious and bright.

The forward cabin features a v - berth with storage below, an open shelf above the forward end of the berth, 2 opening ports, and a large hatch overhead.

The main salon has a settee to port and an L shaped settee to starboard. The dining table stands to starboard of centerline, providing plenty of room for the crew. The navigation table and electrical panel are located at the aft end of the port settee. Large fixed and opening ports as well as an overhead hatch keep the salon bright and well ventilated.

The U shaped galley finishes out the aft end of the cabin. Sink with hot and cold pressure water, storage draws and cabinets, custom molded counter tops, 2 burner propane stove with oven, and a very large ice box, provide an efficient area for food storage and preparation.

The head compartment is to starboard, across from the galley. Manual head connected to holding tank, macerator pump, and deck discharge fitting, along with sink, handheld shower fixture, shower drain and storage are well laid out and fitted.

The aft cabin is the final piece of the interior layout. Accessed via a door just aft of the head compartment. The aft cabin features a large quarter berth, and a cedar lined hanging locker.
